Cardmaking and crafts

My main craft love is cardmaking however there will be bits and bobs scattered around that are non-cardmaking, maybe a bit of baking, embroidery, knitting - whatever takes my fancy on the day

Yay, I've managed a multiple challenge!

Ive been having a ply with my silhouette cameo today and have made my hubs valentines card and a little pressie for him (a box full of chocolate hearts).

First of all the card:

I have created a fancy shaped card using silhouette and matted and layered in the same shape and created a strip going across it along with a fancy shape with the image on.  The image is a mo manning one called stole my heart which I think is perfect for a male card as its not too gushy.  I then coloured him in with my promarkers.  I have also stamped the blue layer of card with a twinkle inkpad which leaves a pearlescent watermark, the stamp I used was a free stamp that I had with a craft Stamper magazine (last year I think).

I have also matted and layered the same colours on the inside (sorry no pictures) and put a nice little verse that I printed out.

For the box I have used a silhouette design which is a scallop box, I have cut it in the colour to match the card however the white part on the box is a centura pearlescent card from cupcake crafting.

I have then used my cameo again to cut the LOVE phrase from the matching pearlescent card, this cutting file was from birds designs (highly recommend this site to everyone that has a cutting machine, her designs are all fantastic).

I also stamped the sides of the lid with the pearlescent inkpad again with a small heart.

Baby Humphrey

Well I'm here again, this week I've had my specrum noirs and promarkers out again.

I have made this card for my box of cards, no intended recipient yet.

I have stamped the Humphrey (from Crafters companion) and coloured him using my pens.

I cut the frame on my silhouette using a free download and then created my background using stamps and distress ink.

Well thats the card made, I just need someone to have a baby now.

I'm entering this card in the Pan pastel challenge - animal

Thanks for looking.

Quickie card

I have decided that I have been hoarding too much stuff like toppers and papers that I have bought but then don't want to use them for anyone because their too nice.   For some reason I find myself being quite frugal with consumables such as kanban or hunkydory so I over the last couple of weeks I have made a concerted effort to use some toppers that were too nice to use and have been happy to realise that they make really quick cards (low and behold!)

Here is a card I made for our great nephew using a topper which I mounted onto a cirlce of mirri card which i had put through my cuttlebug using a mask and coordinating backing paper.

I am entering this card in the panpastel challenge to have another go at winning some of the lovely pastels before my hubs buys me some for my birthday.  The theme this week is seeing stars and as you can see the backing paper has stars.

Last week I had some great advice on which colours to go for as a priority so I am nearly ready to order.

Looking at other people's challenge entries I find myself surprised at just how many challenges people can make one card work on, for me its a struggle to get myself organised for one let alone 10 with one card, maybe that's going to be my next non-new-years resolution. :)

Thanks for looking.
